Newly wedded, they’ve created the ultimate love nest, combining pared-down interiors and a muted palette with delicious wall paper and some insanely incredible electronics.

From that first double take, Chalcot Crescent will leave you struggling to keep your cool. As your Jimmy Choos meet the hall’s honeyed parquet flooring, you’ll be torn between kicking them off to curl up by the open fire in the sitting room, and nestling down in the library.

The (vast) kitchen boasts an array of cookbooks alongside a large plasma TV. Eat at the breakfast bar, or, for more formal dining, the table seats eight. Tech geeks will have a ball with a top-end stereo system.

When the evening’s over, head up the stairs to find three large double bedrooms, one with its own bathroom. As clever as Alain de Botton, as lovely as Rachel Weisz, Chalcot Crescent is nothing short of spectacular.

If you fancy exploring the grittier side of city, then you’re just a short cab ride from the grungy pubs of Chalk Farm and Camden, where the likes of Pete Doherty and Kate Moss can be found behaving badly into the wee smalls. And, if you can tear yourself away from your new home long enough for a trip into town, the red carpets of Leicester Square are within half an hour of your front door.
