The headlines It’s a bit of a scoop to find a large, stylish home, packed with Victorian features and modern designer furniture, between two of London’s prettiest parks, but here it is. A family house in this part of the city with space enough in its garden for a trampoline is rare enough, but more precious still is one with this much character and charm. And should you choose to do a follow up story, you’ll find Highbury offers plenty of material, with cute cafes, one of the UK’s finest cheese shops and super fast links into town. Hold the front page! Editorial team Your hosts are a pair of television producers who work for the BBC. A lifetime of travel has bestowed them with a stunning collection of treasures, which you’ll find all around Aberdeen Road. Your host is also a collector of vintage and contemporary art and photography, and you will find hundreds of gorgeous books on the shelves and many beautiful images on the walls. Top story Aberdeen Road is at once rather glamorous yet entirely approachable. You’ll find the rooms spacious and full of light, yet with all manner of cosy corners. Look out for the original fireplace and sumptuously ornate cornicing in the sitting room, while couch surfers will turn their attention to the latest news on the 46 inch TV. The kitchen is simply enormous, with white floorboards, an antique mirror and sunshine-yellow cupboards. We’ll go on the record as saying there’s a definite rococo decadence to the master bedroom. You’ll adore the vintage bed, the sleek ensuite and your very own dressing room. You’ll find two children’s bedrooms on the second floor, and your little ones will be torn between grabbing the top bunk bed and playing on the Wii. You’ve a further simple single and a choice of two more family bathrooms, both with glorious Victorian roll top baths. Heard it here first Walk in Highbury Fields, play with the deer in Clissold Park, visit Highbury Barn’s gorgeous cafes, buy cheese at La Fromagerie, or go and cheer Arsenal at the nearby Emirates Stadium. You’ll have plenty to write about whatever you do. Nearby Upper Street has so many bars and restaurants that it’s a top destination in its own right, or, if you decide to head into town, the tube from Highbury and Islington to Oxford Circus takes an incredibly short ten minutes.
