In good company Rue d'Aumale is a three bedroom, three bathroom apartment in Louvre-Opéra. Constructed in 1864 during the time of Napoleon III as an hotêl particulier for the director of the Opéra Comique of Paris, his neighbours at the time included Chopin, Wagner and George Sand. Such history is impeccably preserved, with the panelled walls, ornate mirrors and a high moulded ceiling making the living area grandly eye-catching. The kitchen and bedrooms are colourfully contemporary, while the scattered curios include an albino peacock in the sitting room and the dining room’s row of Buddhas. You’re naturally close to Opéra, as well as two of Paris’s most famous sights – Moulin Rouge and Sacré-Cœur in the cobbled streets of Montmartre. Just a couple of minutes walk away are the trendy bars and restaurants of the Place Saint-Georges, as well as the Saint-Georges metro station.
