Wild life On a stately South Kensington street, Old Brompton Road VIII has a wild side. You enter on the lower ground floor, straight into the open-plan living area. On the left is the kitchen, which has an antique table (with lush velvet chairs) as a centrepiece. Opposite that there’s a sitting area, its L-shaped sofa surrounded by brightly bound books and dramatic artworks—the mountain lion painting over the ornamental fireplace is undoubtedly the most striking. And beyond that there’s a little patio, with a table shaded by a bunting-edged canopy. Through the door on the right of the sitting room you’ll find the rest of the rooms. There’s the bathroom – ornately tiled and sleekly fitted – and then the master bedroom. A deep-turquoise wall and several nature-inspired artworks (two moody landscapes and another big cat painting) give this final room an especially lively feel.
