Discerningly done As refined as this esteemed part of Paris, this fifth-floor home is worth the climb. The front door opens into a hallway, which leads first to the master bedroom. White-painted and simply furnished, it’s made characterful by many exotic artworks and antiques. Beyond that is a toilet room and the sleek, mirrored bathroom, and then right at the end of the hallway there’s the second bedroom. Also white-painted, it has a double bed, a desk and a little balcony. A staircase takes you up to Rue des Petits Carreaux’s sitting room, which has wood floors and beamed sky-lit ceilings. At one end is a granite-topped dining table, just past which you’ll find the kitchen. And at the other there’s a sitting area with a sofa, two contemporary armchairs and many beautiful books and artworks. From there, windows open onto another balcony.
