And here, at Chelsea Embankment, you’ll find Cheyne Walk 2 moored and waiting. Afloat, it may be, but no luxury has been sacrificed - stripped wood floors, a wood-burning stove and a freestanding bath will leave you feeling deeply cosseted. And the view! When you’re ready, the shops and restaurants of Chelsea are waiting… but with a home as enchanting as this, you may find yourself reluctant to step ashore.

Your hostess is a lawyer, whilst your host rebuilt this boat and is at work on another. When they’re not in London, they’re in their second home on the south coast. Here, too, they’re on the water, either paddling a kayak, or zipping along in a speedboat.

Make a splash

You’ll come first to the sitting room, with its pale woods and gentle fabrics. The coloured glass windows are juicy-bright, and when the sunshine falters there’s an antique iron stove. Step onto the terrace for one of the best views in the city, and stay awhile to chat to your neighbours, or eat breakfast al fresco. Downstairs, there’s a country-style kitchen and a natural stone tiled shower room. And then, to the master bedroom, with its kingsized bed and, best of all, a designer bathtub… those for whom water really is the essence of life can lie back amidst our White Company bubbles gazing dreamily at the river, just beyond the glass.

On dry land

King’s Road is one of London’s most glamorous destinations, where world-leading boutiques sit alongside chic cafes and snazzy bars. Spend an afternoon at the Curzon cinema, eat in Gordon Ramsey’s flagship, triple Michelin-starred restaurant, or walk over to Kensington and the museums. The tube from Sloane Square to Oxford Circus takes around ten minutes.

Home truths

This home is a houseboat so you will feel some slight movement as the tide comes in and out, and hear some creaks and noises. Your hosts find this to be all part of the charm.

The stairs in this home are extremely steep, and this home may therefore not be suitable for elderly guests.

Your hosts have a cat. Although she will not be in the home during your stay, this home may not be suitable for allergy sufferers.

This home is not suitable for babies or children.

This home doesn't have air conditioning. Between June and September, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period.


Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Our flexible rate offers more flexibility for those who need it. Read our cancellation policy here. Please note bookings for Hamptons and French Riviera have a separate cancellation policy.

Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.

I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.

Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
