Like Pimlico itself, Cumberland Street IV is elegant in a very English kind of way. The front door leads off the entrance hallway on the ground floor, and opens straight into the sitting room. This is a fascinating room – a framed historical map of Wales covers one of the pale grey walls, and model ships and other curiosities line the shelves opposite. The centrepiece is a tiled fireplace, around which sit a sofa,a comfortable red armchair, a dining table with two period chairs, a pair of additional folding chairs and an assortment of other antique furniture.

Through an archway, you’ll find the black-and-grey contemporary kitchen, compact but well-equipped, and then through a door beside that is a hallway leading to the bedrooms (each with a double bed). First is the subtle master bedroom with a pair of splendid 19th century oil landscape paintings. then comes the toilet room on one side and the slate-tiled bathroom, on the other. These are cleverly concealed behind folding panel doors enabling each part to be used separately or opened up to make a sumptuous larger bathroom. Finally comes the second bedroom, which has a double bed and access to a sunny balcony and a paved garden and comfortable seating area below via an elegant spiral staircase.

Home truths

The garden is accessed via a spiral staircase.

The second bedroom does not have a door, however the toilet room has a door which can be opened to separate the bedroom from the hallway.

The integrated bath shower is located behind a sliding door panel in the hallway. Both this door and the toilet room door can be opened for privacy when the bath is in use.

This home doesn't have air conditioning. Between June and September, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period.


Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Our flexible rate offers more flexibility for those who need it. Read our cancellation policy here. Please note bookings for Hamptons and French Riviera have a separate cancellation policy.

Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.

I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.

Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
