Your hosts are an Irish couple who have three children, and when they’re not in London they’re heading back to rural Gloucestershire where they spend half their time. The home overflows with classical, opulent design and high-end antiques, so it will not surprise you to hear that the father of the home works in finance.

Get red carpet sensations as you step inside Dawson Place and notice the high ceilings and stucco work which pervade throughout this stunning home. Catch your breath in the TV room on the ground floor, before nipping into the high spec kitchen for some epicurean indulgences. Dine looking out over the lush garden or retreat to the grand dining room, where the family can be entertained around the long table.

Heading to the frankly spectacular drawing room, you’ll feel like you’ve walked into a life size version of a perfect Victorian dolls’ house, complete with baroque antiques, marble fireplace, gilt mirrors and a chandelier. While away the time tinkling the ivories of the grand piano, or enjoy a game of chess on the glass-topped table.After a post-dinner brandy, retire to one of three classically-decorated twin bedrooms, the spacious double ensuite, or, the split level master suite. Here, preen yourself in the walk in wardrobe, spread out in the massive marble bathroom, or curl up in the crisp linens of the king size mahogany bed.

High ground

Dawson Place holds a royal seat just a stone’s throw from Portobello Road, making it one of the most highly-coveted residential areas in the city. Home truths

This home is spread over five floors with no internal elevator.

There is parking available in the garage and on the drive.

There is no permanent hanging space in the pink bedroom, so a collapsible wardrobe will be set up for your stay.

This home doesn't have air conditioning. Between June and September, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period.


Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Our flexible rate offers more flexibility for those who need it. Read our cancellation policy here. Please note bookings for Hamptons and French Riviera have a separate cancellation policy.

Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.

I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.

Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
