Description

Natural wonder Ancient Oaks is no ordinary house on a hill. Deep in the Californian countryside, it overlooks 27 acres of its own woodland. The driveway leads up to a separate guest house (with a kitchenette and ensuite bedroom) on the left, and the main building on the right. There’s a pergola and solar-heated swimming pool in the courtyard which, via pocket glass doors, takes you into the beamed sitting room and kitchen. Contemporary and well-proportioned, at its other end there’s a patio with a barbecue and round dining table. In the courtyard, the skylit bathroom is next door to the sitting room, and to the right is the master bedroom. There’s a working fireplace across from its queen-sized bed, and the ensuite has a freestanding bath and an outdoor shower. With full-height windows looking into a copse of trees and beyond, the office (opposite) is a room for quiet contemplation.

  • There is limited phone reception and wifi inside this home.
  • This home accepts babies and children, but does not accept toddlers.
  • There is space for a double airbed in the office if you need extra sleeping space for your stay. Please let us know when you book if you would like it prepared. The office is detached from the main home and there are no curtains to block out daylight. There is no wardrobe here so we will provide a hanging rail for storage.
