Make me happy when skies are grey There’s something awfully endearing about Edge Street. A cherub gazes from the window, everywhere, pretty ornaments and artwork remind you that you’re home. Just as well, given that you’re in one of the buzziest parts of town, with all the fun of Notting Hill moments from your front door. Catch some rays in Kensington Gardens, gather precious treasure at Portobello Road Markett. You’ve the shops and bars of Kensington High Street, the designer deliciousness of Knightsbridge’s boutiques, Harrods and Harvey Nichols. And when your credit card’s maxed out, never fear – for the museums are free, and so close that you won’t even need to find the fare for a cab. How much I love you Your friendly hostess has a lust for life, and she can’t wait to welcome you to her home. She’s a yoga teacher who spends much of her time deep in the Italian countryside, where she cooks scrumptious, healthy food and takes long walks with her beloved dogs. Don’t take my sunshine away Even in the darkest days of winter, a sense of summer lingers in these fresh, delicately furnished rooms. Original cornicing and a marble fireplace are framed by petal pink walls, while there’s a rustic feel to the eat-in kitchen, with its oak worktops and creamy tiles. There’s more pink in the simple double bedroom, and doors opening out onto a darling little walled garden, with dining space for four in the shade of a miniature tree.
