Upstairs on the parlour level, there are two living rooms to choose from, and there’s a stately office too, where your hosts’ book collection is displayed.

Your hosts are history buffs with a fondness for New York's past – they’ve enjoyed watching Brooklyn evolve over their 40 years in residence. When they're not discovering new neighbourhood spots or tending their garden, you’ll find them playing music and reading.

Historic roots

Enter this home at garden level – you’ll find bouquets of dried flowers, sepia-toned family photos and an ivory sailing ship brighten the rooms. The kitchen is wholesome, with a beamed ceiling, cream tiles and cast-iron cookware. The dining room is just beyond and has a traditional wooden table for six, and the sun room is in the other direction – it opens into the decked garden. Head up to the third floor, where there are three beguiling bedrooms brushed with shades of cream, mint and sky-blue. And the bathrooms are equally inviting. One has a bold, monochrome-tiled floor and walk-in shower, and the other is brightly hued with a deep bathtub.

This home has air-conditioning in the office and bedrooms only. Let us know if you'd like extra fans for your stay.

This home comfortably sleeps five adults, with an additional single airbed that can be made up upon request in the sitting room bringing the maximum occupancy to six.

Guests may find that this much-loved home is a bit worn in some places.

This home spans over three floors with no elevator. Guests enter at the garden level and will find the dining room, kitchen, bathroom, sun room, and garden. The sitting room, TV room, and office are located on the parlour level. The master bedroom, queen bedroom, twin bedroom and bathroom are located on the third floor.

This home is not suitable for toddlers. However, babies and children over six are very welcome.

Policies

Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Our flexible rate offers more flexibility for those who need it. Read our cancellation policy here. Please note bookings for Hamptons and French Riviera have a separate cancellation policy.

Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.

I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.

Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
