Gorgeously grand Situated in a rather splendid part of Rome next to the splendid Piazza del Popolo, the Villa Borghese gardens and plenty of upscale boutiques and restaurants, this exuberant home suits its surroundings. The entrance hall takes you first to the sitting room, which has rich colours and classic details, and two separate sitting areas. Both are hung with elegant artworks, and furnished with plump-cushioned sofas and polished side-tables. This room adjoins the dining room – a bolder, red-painted place with an antique table and East Asian wall hangings. Head straight from the entrance hall for the contemporary kitchen. Back in the hallway you'll come to the two double bedrooms and both bathrooms. The master bedroom has a striped-silk king-size bed, characterful antiques and a charmingly tiled ensuite (which has a shower and a marble bath). The second bedroom is painted vivid turquoise, has a sitting area with a sofa and a desk, and a double bed on a mezzanine above.
