They’re based in the French Alps near Geneva, having left the UK twenty two years ago. She’s a teacher, while he’s in the energy business. And ‘energetic’ is just the word for this family of four. They and their teenage boys get a buzz, stepping straight out into the city bustle and frequently enjoy the easy access to London’s theatre and live music scene. Your hosts like to eat out and they just adore variety, so much so that they pride themselves on never having dined in the same restaurant twice! Clarity The open plan living room in Hatton Garden is just vast, a great expanse of warm wooden floor upon which rests the comfiest of couches. But, as any diamantaire will tell you, size means nothing if a stone is riddled with flaws. We’re proud to report that whether admired from a distance, or scrutinised up close, Hatton Garden is utterly lovely. When you’re done admiring the floral artwork, the chrome fridge and the view from the balcony, head to the bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts another outdoor terrace, and a stunning ‘floating’ super king sized bed. There’s a sleek en suite, or, head next door to the luxurious family bathroom. The second double boasts a funky scarlet egg chair, while the cosy den can be converted into a third bedroom if required; for here’s a home whose delights are truly multi-faceted. Setting Milling with couples choosing their wedding bands, Hatton Garden is as romantic a location as they come. There’s a rich history to this part of town. You’ll discover doddering watchmakers, cobbled streets, and, five minutes away, the air filled with the raucous cries of cockney traders on the centuries old Leather Lane market. There are bars and restaurants all around, and, being right in zone one, you can get to wherever you need to be, either by tube, in a cab, or on foot, in a mere handful of minutes.
