A port in a storm

Grace Court spreads itself over four spacious floors. The living room is decorated in hues of coffee and cream with natural fibre carpets and a marble fireplace offer an ideal setting to enjoy a naval adventure story. A ship’s wheel on the wall ensures an even keel as you transition to the kitchen - it’s no cramped galley. Marble countertops, soaring ceilings and warm wood cabinets will inspire a perfect bouillabaisse. A plant-filled solarium towards the back of the house opens out into a tranquil back garden for a taste of the Brooklyn air.

Unfurl your sails in the second-floor study, a gorgeous, comfortable room where oil paintings, woven rugs, and patterned throw pillows blend into tantalizing visual riot. The study’s mauve walls and large windows open out into a back terrace. Sit outside on a chair of driftwood and hope for a red sky at night, or ascend with a book to the skylit crow’s nest sitting room on the top floor. When its time to retire, there will be no settling into a sailor’s hammock. The light-filled bedrooms are enlivened by decorative touches: a sculpture of a whale, maritime curtains, and a map of the seven seas. The billowy expanse of the bed in the master bedroom will have you dreaming of being rocked to sleep amid gentle swells.

Brooklyn Heights is a historic neighbourhood of stately brownstone townhouses and quiet side streets only one stop from lower Manhattan. Easily navigated, it’s in walking distance to the gourmet food shops of Atlantic Avenue and the lively shopping and restaurant and bar scenes of adjacent Cobble Hill. As the sun sets, a stroll to the waterfront promenade is only blacks away. Gaze across New York harbour, the Brooklyn Bridge and the skyline of Manhattan and watch your ship come in.

Home truths

This home spans over four floors with no elevator. Guests enter on the first floor and will find the living room, powder room, kitchen, sun room, and access to the garden. The master bedroom, study, balcony, and a bathroom are located on the second floor. The king bedroom, a single bedroom, and a bathroom are located on the third floor. The den, an additional twin bedroom, and a bathroom are located on the fourth floor.

This home comfortably sleeps seven adults, with an additional single trundle bed in the twin bedroom, another single trundle bed in the single bedroom, a queen sofabed in the den, or an airbed in the study that can be made up upon request bringing the maximum occupancy to eleven.

This townhouse is home to one hypoallergenic dog. While he won't be in residence during guest stays, this home may not be suitable for people with severe allergies.

The minimum stay length for this home is seven nights.

Policies

Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Our flexible rate offers more flexibility for those who need it. Read our cancellation policy here. Please note bookings for Hamptons and French Riviera have a separate cancellation policy.

Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.

I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.

Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
