Poise for thought
You really don’t need superstar cheekbones or steepling heels to be a model. Just try this home on for size. Draped in shades of white and the freshest spring brights, Kensington Gardens Square III lets everyone look divine. Those glam white floorboards make a catwalk for both sunshine and your latest Louboutins, while its open plan design lets your guests flow from gorgeous kitchen and dining room into a chic, statement sitting room. Outdoors, the sparkly boutiques and dainty delis of Westbourne Grove are moments away, or why not strut your stuff in Kensington Gardens or Portobello Road…
Your distinctly fashionable hostess works for Conde Nast, where she houses international models during London Fashion Week. She has a teenage son, as well as a cottage in West Oxfordshire.
If you aren’t won over by the stuccoed mansion block or gracious garden square, you will be when you throw open your door. The sitting room is stylish and sumptuous alike, with a fresh floral rug, jewel-bright cushions and lustrous lamps. Tread over the white floorboards for a squish on its cosy couches, pluck a book from the shelves, or cook up a storm in the kitchen. Downlights dance across its high spec surfaces, and you’ve a charming dining table for six.
The master bedroom makes the most elegant of boudoirs. Luxury linen drapes the king bed, while artwork, delightfully dainty furniture and an up-to-date ensuite weave a stylish spell. You’ll find the double both bright and becoming in white, with fashion books on the desk and flowers drinking in the freshness. The bathroom looks rather lovely, and given its White Company toiletries and fluffy towels, you surely will too.
Fine-tune your wardrobe in the fancy boutiques at Westbourne Grove, or browse the independent stores and pavement cafes of Notting Hill. Perhaps you’ll hunt for treasures in Portobello Road, picnic in Kensington Gardens or let your hair down in Queensway’s bowling alley. Either way, you won’t be short of things to do around here – and the tube can have you in Oxford Circus in seven short minutes.
