The good old days

Perched on the hill just above the Sunset Strip, Mountcrest Avenue is a classic Hollywood home, built in the 1920s Spanish Revival style. A staircase leads up from the garden gate to the front door, which takes you straight to a sitting room. This inviting space has a working fireplace, comfortable seating and a Moroccan-style chandelier. On the right is the adjoining dining room – smarter still, with a polished table and pale-green chairs. Next is the classic kitchen, where a door opens into a second sitting room with a sofabed and its own bathroom. And out through another door you’ll find the tiered garden, with its palm-shaded patio (with space to dine) and a cabana with stunning views.

From the dining room, a staircase takes you up to the first floor. On the right here is the second bedroom, which has an ensuite and a balcony, next to the book-filled office. On the left, there’s the master bedroom – a quietly elegant room with an old-style ensuite and views across Los Angeles.

Home truths

You'll have to climb two outdoor staircases to reach the home's front door.

One dog and one cat live at this home. They won't be around during your stay, but this home may not be suitable for people with allergies.

There is a sofa bed in the second sitting room which can be set up for two. Please let us know when you book if you would like it prepared. There is no wardrobe in this room so we will provide a hanging rail for storage.

There is space to park one car in the private garage and there is ample street-parking on the surrounding streets.

Policies

Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Our flexible rate offers more flexibility for those who need it. Read our cancellation policy here. Please note bookings for Hamptons and French Riviera have a separate cancellation policy.

Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.

I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.

Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
