Original floorboards, shutters and cornicing are just asking to be admired, while both kitchen and beaming bathrooms are awesomely modern. Better still, you’ve a balcony, pretty private garden and access to the enviable communal grounds of Ladbroke Grove. That’s if you’re not busy with the buzz of Notting Hill...
Your glamorous hosts work as art dealers. Creative themselves, look carefully and you’ll spot your hostess’s heart collages dotted about. When they bought this home, it was a tumbledown affair with even its servant quarters intact – now, it’s a fine, beautiful family home that’s a big hit with their five happy children.
There’s an English elegance to this home, and nowhere more so than in the splendid sitting room. The windows are shuttered, the artwork magnificent and the floorboards ashine with daylight. Surrender to the sofas and armchairs, take the air on the balcony or head into the dining room. A bookcase climbs all the way to the corniced ceiling and a graceful table seats eight. The kitchen awaits downstairs. Shiny surfaces host a steam oven and space-age hob, and there’s bags of space all around. Once you’ve eaten at the smart dining table, you can gather around the piano for a sing-song – or breeze into the verdant garden.
The games room will keep the kids occupied, and you’ve four bedrooms. A grandfather clock taps away in the airy king bedroom, while the twin is cute and cuddlesome. The master bedroom is arty and elegant, its ensuite stocked with White Company goodies. There’s a quaint single upstairs with ensuite – as well as a further bathroom.
Notting Hill is never short on action, whether it’s the cafes and collectibles of Portobello Road or the vibrant restaurants and bars studding each street. If your communal gardens aren’t enough, peace and peacocks await in Holland Park or you can take a stroll through Kensington Gardens to the Serpentine Gallery. Shoppers will be making for Kensington High Street, or straight for the West End. The tube from Holland Park to Oxford Circus takes only ten minutes.
This home is on four floors so there are a lot of stairs to reach the top.
Your host has another single bed which can be placed into the single bedroom for your stay if required. Please let our reservations team know if you would like this to be set up for your stay.
This home welcomes bookings of three nights or more.
Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Our flexible rate offers more flexibility for those who need it. Read our cancellation policy here. Please note bookings for Hamptons and French Riviera have a separate cancellation policy.
Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.
Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.
I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.
Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.
Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.
Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
