The secret garden
On a quiet street in the Latin Quarter, Rue Lhomond’s carefully curated interior radiates old-world charm. From the top-floor TV snug’s sofa of jewel-coloured cushions, to the stylish kitchen with its beamed ceiling and walls of paintings, there are charming features aplenty. But this home’s best-kept secret might be the light-filled conservatory leading out to the quaint walled garden. Here terracotta pots brim and elegant trees border the cobbled ground. Pull up a deckchair and set to daydreaming – you’ll feel far from the city’s buzz.

Antique dealers by trade, your hosts’ passion for antiquated furniture ensures their home – like their antiques shop – is a treasure trove of stylish vintage finds. And as well as her own, your hostess has furnished many other Paris interiors.
The bathrooms reveal further delights, from the modern tiles of the shower room to the steel, roll-top bath of the master, its walls covered in collected mirrors. There’s intricate artwork in the master bedroom, an antique piano in another, and a third holds a ship’s lantern and marble solitaire set. Outside, the vibrant Latin Quarter is ripe for discovery too – head to bustling Marché Mouffetard, a five-minute stroll away, and you’ll find fresh bread, organic wines and delicious charcuterie.
