While Greenwich Village is fast becoming New York’s most glamorous nook, its inner-city joviality is still palpable. And the area’s diverse milieu is a fitting backdrop for this quirky home. With its pastel-painted and exposed brick walls, and light wood flooring, here there’s a fundamental elegance. But Jackson Place is also full of daring touches – there’s a collection of striking artworks and exotic objects, and intriguingly mismatched furnishings range in tone from deep purple to vivid yellow. Marvel at the many delights within, then take a look outside where a sunny and secluded patio awaits.
Your hosts are a creative pair, and their New York home reflects their many and varied artistic interests. And social beings both, they’ve ensured Jackson Place has ample quirky-yet-cosy corners in which to gather.
##A bit of everything
Greenwich Village is a blend of shops, cafés and renowned restaurants. And with the cool streets of Soho and the edgy haunts of the East Village within walking distance too, there’s much to be discovered.
But do spare a moment for the delights of home. The colourful kitchen’s sleekly-designed island has seating for six, and the atmospheric media room is a snug spot to kick back in – a drink resting atop the repurposed trunk coffee table. Or, if it’s total repose that most appeals, rest assured that each of the three bedrooms is as characterful and comfortable as the last.
