Making it There’s a distinctly urban aesthetic to Lots Road. Materials such as steel, iron, wood and glass come together to create a look that’s tough yet soft. This home is all about city life, but, should you be in need of a moment with Mother Nature, just look out the window for views onto the Thames. Chelsea’s King’s Road is only five minutes away, where you’ll find Sloane Rangers and dowager duchesses carousing in the smart bars and fantastic restaurants. So take a walk by the river, picnic in Battersea Park or hit the shops. Captains of industry Your host is an entrepreneur who owns a London hotel business, so he knows all about welcoming guests. Working long hours, he cherishes time spent relaxing at home, whether it’s lounging on the sofa, cooking, or simply sipping coffee on the balcony and watching the world go by. Rough with the smooth Look out for the industrial touches all around Lots Road, there’s a factory staircase, steel fixtures and reclaimed wood floors. There are two spacious double bedrooms, each with king size beds and en suite bathrooms tiled in ebony slate. The master bedroom is a true superstar, with expansive windows looking out onto the balcony, mirrored bedside tables and even a spotlight. The living space is open plan, the kitchen’s a study in faintly rustic with a contemporary, urbane twist, with hanging saucepans and indigo cabinets. Eight can sit and eat at the chunky dining table, and then it’s over to the sitting room, with its leather bucket chair, luscious velvet curtains and shelves of books. Reclaim the streets There’s some fabulous shopping to be done in King’s Road’s boutiques, and when you’re done, grab a coffee and croissant, or perhaps treat yourself to some triple Michelin starred cuisine at Gordon Ramsay’s flagship restaurant. Then you may want to go to the cinema, see some new writing at the Royal Court Theatre, walk along the river, or head into town, the tube from Fulham Broadway to Piccadilly Circus takes just over twenty minutes.
