Trove of treasures
As you step into Rue de la Mare you’ll drape yourself in some of the loveliest interiors in all of Paris. Bold turquoise, citrine yellow and ruby red glow against a backdrop of pearly white, while curious angles and a double-height ceiling give this space an intoxicating drama. You’re at the end of a private lane away from prying eyes, but if you’re feeling sociable, Belleville has plenty of bars and cafés in which to shine. Be it croissants at Pâtisserie de L’Eglise, or a slice of Brillat-Savarin from Billevaire, you’ll find it’s not just your home that combines indulgence, fun and glamour so effortlessly.

Your hosts are a Franco-Canadian couple. She’s an artist, often busy organising exhibitions, while he’s a writer and novelist. They’ve three small children and the whole family adores the theatre – the more razzle-dazzle, the better.
Rue de la Mare was once an atelier des bijoux – a jeweller’s workshop – and something of that refined spirit remains in the finely wrought chandelier, the original oil paintings and the master bedroom’s rug – its design as alluring and colourful as a handful of spilled gems.
The main living space is at once elegant and relaxed, pale textiles offsetting the magnificence of the modern fireplace and grand piano. And while the dining table looks out over a mature garden, where emerald leaves fall gently onto the patio’s weathered wood, upstairs the master bedroom is entirely peaceful, the adorable children’s bedrooms filled with enticing toys.
The host's cat usually resides at the home. While it won't be there during guests stays, the home might not be suitable for those with pet allergies.
There is no hanging space in the master, double and children bedroom, so we will set up a collapsible hanging rail for your stay.
