Urban life. The lights, the buzz, the people, the traffic…intoxicating, yes, but can’t it all be a bit, well, much? When the fast lane is starting to feel rather too speedy, there’s no need to crash and burn. Instead, come to Nevern Square V, a home whose perfect proportions are only matched by its overriding sense of tranquility. Here, long windows overlook a quiet square, sunshine falls upon carpets the colour of clotted cream, and the cares of the everyday are banished to a land far away.
Your host is a bit of a bon vivant. She runs a company investing in nightspots all around the globe, so when she’s not stepping off a plane or sipping fizz behind a velvet rope, she craves serenity. She was born in Tanzania, and you may spot a few childhood relics scattered around Nevern Square V.
The kitchen of Nevern Square V is in an impeccable condition, with many of the appliances never having been used. Pop the kettle on for a mug of camomile tea, and then retreat to the equally modern ensuite. Here, you’ve oodles of White Company toiletries and a heap of our wonderfully fluffy white towels, so bolt the door and lose yourself in a lovely lather. When you emerge, the sitting room’s waiting, with shelves of books, a flat screen TV and two deep sofas. Or retire to the bedroom, where the leather-covered sleigh bed is ready with the snowy embrace of our luxury bed linen.
Wake up call
Morning meditation or a gentle saunter can be conducted in the gardens right outside your front door, then, if the outdoors continues to enthrall, you’re only a short walk from parks both Hyde and Holland. Nip across to High Street Kensington for all the shops, cafes and restaurants you could possibly want, or head into town. The tube from Gloucester Road to Piccadilly Circus takes just ten minutes.
