Set back from the sleek streets of Islington, Northchurch Road encourages a slower pace of living. Close to the peaceful canal, its rooms are blissfully arranged – you’ll find dragon-embroidered scrolls and decorative lanterns framed by creamy walls and stripped floorboards. At ground level, the open-plan kitchen has a butcher’s block at its centre, pale-blue cabinets and a dining table encircled with antique rattan chairs. Open the double French windows onto the secluded garden – where the south-facing patio gives way to a long, green lawn. Or venture beyond the leafy walls to explore the neighbourhood – the De Beauvoir Arms at the end of the road serves refreshing ales and hearty dishes.


Your hosts are both lawyers. When they’re not working they're busy plotting their next adventures to lesser-explored parts of the world.

Thoughtful place

The first floor sitting room, just off the double bedroom, has a distinctly Eastern style. The sofa is strewn with embroidered cushions, and the Kilim-style rug and wall of ink-wash paintings are thoughtfully composed. And the impressive library may tempt you to curl up with tea and your chosen book – the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves are impressively stocked. Up the second set of stairs are the other cosy bedrooms, simply decorated with rich-wood furnishings and intriguing oriental artworks.

Home truths

This home is spread across three floors with no internal elevator.

This home doesn't have air conditioning. Between June and September, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period.

The fireplaces in this house aren't available for guests to use during their stay.

The home is in a controlled parking zone. On-street parking is available but a permit must be displayed during the day on weekdays. These are available from the host (at no extra cost). Let us know when you book if you'd like to use these for your stay.


Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Our flexible rate offers more flexibility for those who need it. Read our cancellation policy here. Please note bookings for Hamptons and French Riviera have a separate cancellation policy.

Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.

I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.

Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
