Art school confidential
If art is your favourite subject, you won't find a better education than in Chelsea Townhouse. Fantastic artworks and iconic furniture are proudly displayed against a subtle palette of blacks, whites and browns – from the striking pair of coffee tables to the cosy egg armchair in the nursery. Further fine art can be found in Chelsea's gallery district – only blocks away – or seek instead the inspiration of nature with a tour of the High Line. For a taste of the culinary arts, Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District are just a few blocks away.
Your hosts are art and design connoisseurs who have filled their home with some of their favourite pieces. As a family, they love to read, travel, and spend time exploring their beloved city.
Chelsea Townhouse would surely graduate top of its class, with its original architectural details cleverly showcasing modern pointillist paintings and colour-saturated photographs. For all the sitting room’s loud hues, the contemporary chandelier is strikingly pared-back. Cosy up beneath it, or in the den for a movie night, or gather instead around the grand dining room table – a bowl of oversized ornamental eggs might offer just as much to ponder. And while children will love the twin bedroom with its colourful wall atlas and science toys, grown-ups will enjoy the sitting room’s armchair, nestled up against a tall shelf of fashion and design tomes.
This home spans over three floors with no elevator. Guests enter on the first floor and will find the living room, dining room, and a bathroom.
