Parts unknown Tribal-print textiles, delicate palm fronds and carved wooden furniture are among the charms that helped put 10th Street Townhouse on our map. An open-plan living area spans the first floor – a plump sofa and chairs surround a coffee table piled with books and a wooden dining table seats eight. The sleek kitchen is straight ahead and past the stairs to your right, with a generous marble-topped island, and the wall above the bench to its left is decorated with indigenous artwork picked up on your hosts’ travels. A glass door leads out into the backyard, where there’s a patio with a dining table and grill, and back inside, and upstairs, there’s a trio of bedrooms. The colourful single bedroom is straight ahead, normally occupied by a budding safari leader who's marked a map with his favourite vacation spots. To its left, the queen-size is sunny and quiet, and flashes of yellow and gold enliven the master and its ensuite, directly to your right.
