Town and country Although close to some of Chelsea’s most strolled-along streets, Pooles Lane feels far from the city bustle. You enter into a sweet little garden, to one side of which you’ll find the front door. It opens straight into the dining room, where an antique table stands beneath a pastel-tinted landscape painting. Opposite, there’s the sitting room, which has a cosy blue sofa and two mismatched armchairs, and adjoins the kitchen (slightly sleeker, with a granite-capped breakfast bar). Next, you’ll spot two doorways leading off the open-plan living area. The first, in the dining room, takes you through to a slate-tiled bathroom and the classic second bedroom. And then through the second there’s another bathroom (this time floral-papered, with a bathtub) and the master bedroom. This cream-painted room is brightened by a deep-pink bed, armchair and rug, and opens onto the patio.
