Ice Wharf is something truly special. A modern development in the heart of zone one, it sits on the edge of the Regent’s Canal, and as such, enjoys one of the most serene views in all of the city. Swans glide past your window, and you can almost reach out and touch the brightly painted barges as they wend their merry way towards Camden Lock. You can be in Paris in less than two and a half hours, or, you’ve the soaring arches of St Pancras, and the tranquil back streets of Bloomsbury. Storm tossed? Hardly – this home will leave you calm as a millpond.
Go with the flow
Your hostess is an artist, and she spends much of her time in North Yorkshire, where she and her husband own a stables. They come to this enchanted spot to escape the drumming of hooves and love nothing more than exploring the city from their waterfront crash pad.
Wet wet wet
The sitting room’s enormous windows look directly out onto the canal basin, giving the blissful sensation that you’re afloat. The nautical theme continues through to the boat coffee table, and the sofa’s glacier–blue hue. Take a seat at the dining table, or head around the corner to the kitchen, with its wooden worktop, and some beautiful handmade vases.
The snug TV room next door shares the same waterside views as the sitting room, and at the end of the day, the cerise sofa converts into a double bed. The bathroom is chic - honeyed wood and creamy walls providing the ideal setting to enjoy our scrumptious White Company toiletries. The master bedroom is a true haven. Lie beneath the handmade curtain and watch the twilight dapple the water, then drift into the deepest, gentlest sleep.
On dry land
Caledonian Road is one of the city’s trendiest spots, with new bars and restaurants popping up almost daily.
