Lion and the unicorn
Gentlemanly and trim, Queen's Gate Terrace III is where one might retire after brushing bridles with fashionable society along Kensington High Street. There are period pendant lamps, mirrors of winking brass, wooden floors that gleam deeper than Bombazine. But this is a home of cool – and not just cobbled – Britannia. So having raised a toast to the Union Jacks and postcard pop art, or nipped out for a pot of tea at a sweet cake shop, it may please you to swagger on to Chelsea or Notting Hill.
Sun never sets
Not for your hosts the horseless carriage. Be it Europe, Asia or the US, they are all-roaming citizens of the globe. That said, they certainly don’t mind hanging round for South Ken’s world-beating restaurants, cafés and galleries.
Queen and country
Give your cast iron gate a gentle nudge and settle into this home of grace and good cheer. The dusky coffee table is just the spot to prop your umbrella, while the Chesterfield sofa and armchairs of red leather are best enjoyed with a cup of tea set reassuringly before you.
Whether you choose to pass an idle day on the decked patio or take a patriotic tour of the London maps, landmark prints and Union Jack pillows, there is nothing else for it in the elegant bedrooms than to relax in considerable, and quiet, cosiness.
The bed in the master bedroom can be set up as a super king or as two singles. Please let our reservations team know how you require it for your stay.
The double bedroom has no permanent hanging space, so we will provide a onefinestay hanging rail for your stay.
Although this home allows older children, it is unfortunately not suitable for babies or toddlers.
This home is on the lower ground floor which means it gets less daylight than some homes. But it's all the more snug for being so.
This home doesn't have air conditioning. Between June and September, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period.
