Courtly manner Inside this second-floor home, classic France reigns supreme. Historic portraits and gilded frames share space with Louis XVI chairs and patterned china. Your hosts are heirs to a formidable ancestry, and have had a castle in southern France since the 16th century. As you enter the front hall of Boulevard Jules Sandeau, a magnificent sitting room with full-length windows and parquet floors is straight ahead. The kitchen is to your left, and just beyond, a large formal dining room is furnished with cane-backed chairs upholstered in teal. Past the sitting room there’s a master bedroom and ensuite on the left, and a golden-hued double bedroom on the right. At the end of the hall there’s a separate bathroom, and a bedroom with two single beds and a fine set of spring-green curtains.
