This recently built cottage is a little gem of contemporary marine decoration, intimate and warm, and very well located. It’s in the neighborhood of the Cap Ferret lighthouse, which means it’s easy to do everything on foot, from going to the market or to the beach, whether it’s the ocean beaches or those on the bay.
The house is made up of a living area that opens on to the garden, a well-equipped dining kitchen with a table and benches, and a double room with a queen-size bed, a shower room (shower, washbasins, toilet) and a mezzanine with two (90) mattresses, not accessible to very young children.
A large terrace extends the space, a perfect place to take advantage of the fine weather with deck chairs, a table and parasol. Underneath the entry porch, comfortable bench seats invite you to enjoy the good sea air and the sweet-smelling pines of the peninsula.
Household linen, kitchen and bath towels are provided. The beds will be made up just before your arrival. You’ll also have some surprises in store to welcome you: you’ll find toiletries in the bathrooms and a little gourmet gift basket in the kitchen.
The villa is located in the village of Cap Ferret, 10 minutes on foot to the south of the Cape’s lighthouse and halfway between the bay and the ocean.
Cross the dunes and you’ll find yourself face-to-face with the immense beaches of the Atlantic. On the other side, you’ll find the Fishermen’s village that has preserved all of its charm and authenticity.
At the end of the village, these are several tasting bars, where oyster and white wine aficionados love to sit for a while facing the water, and the "Mimbeau", a long sandbank that closes off the bay. You’ll also find the oyster-grower and fishmonger Boulan, probably the most famous one on the peninsula! A peaceful place for a swim or a quiet walk.
A little further on there’s the lighthouse beach, facing the renowned “Dune du Pilat”.
You can swim, no matter what the tide, and at low tide, children will delight in the little natural “paddling pools” where they can jump around and have fun in complete safety. In the summer season, there’s a small shack where you can rent stand-up paddles to navigate around the bay and stock up on ice cream and cold drinks.
The Cap Ferret Yacht Club is based close by and offers sailing courses and lessons.
