The Lac d’Annecy is a rare and precious pearl: its crystal-clear water is fed by the streams that cascade down from the surrounding mountains, making it one of the cleanest lakes in the world and a great place to take advantage of the wide variety of water sports it offers. There are some lovely little villages around it, among them Veyrier-du-Lac, on the eastern bank, a few minutes away from Annecy, the Venice of the Savoy region. It’s there that the house is located, five minutes on foot from the lake, along a small lush, green road studded with beautiful villas.
The villa is notable for its very modern Scandinavian-inspired all-wood architecture, which is beautifully adapted to the environment. Its large windows let the light pour in and there’s a view of the lake from the second floor. You can enjoy dining al fresco in the villa’s 400 sq. m garden with its large furnished terrace.
The house is laid out on three levels, with an independent studio apartment in the basement:
• Large living area, with a very elegant, minimalist decor, comprising a living room and dining room
• Beautifully equipped open-plan kitchen
• Guest toilets
• Master suite with a king-size bed and view of the lake
• Double bedroom with twin beds and view of the lake
• Bathroom with bathtub, shower and toilets shared by the two bedrooms
• Study with sofa-bed for 1 person
• Studio apartment with view of the garden, queen-size bed, shower room with shower and toilets
• Laundry room
Household linen, kitchen and bath towels are provided. The beds are freshly made. You’ll also have some surprises in store to welcome you: you’ll find toiletries in the bathrooms and a little gourmet gift basket in the kitchen. Additional services are available on demand when you reserve.
Veyrier-du-lac is situated in a privileged location between the Lac d’Annecy and the Aravis mountain range. It’s a lively little village with shops, cafés and restaurants, offering many opportunities for leisure activities.
There’s a water sports club and sailing school very close to the house, providing a friendly, family-style venue for sailing, windsurfing, paddle boating, and kayaking enthusiasts, as well as for fans of other sliding sports such as wakeboarding and wake surfing.
In season, it’s also possible to rent sailboats, windsurfing boards, paddleboats and kayaks.
In the winter, you’ll appreciate having the slopes nearby: the La Clusaz and Grand Bornand ski areas are less than 30 minutes away by road. In the summer, you can hike up the paths of the Aravis low mountain range leading you to its pristine and protected high mountain pastures.
Starting in the summer of 2017, a cycling path alongside the road to Annecy, which passes right behind the house, will enable you to access the magnificent Savoy Venice by bike in complete safety. In the meantime, you can get to Annecy in just 15 minutes by car.
