Description

The beautiful freestone facade, high ceilings with moldings, small wrought-iron balconies: the house has preserved all the features typical of Bordeaux-style townhouses. When you step inside, however, you’ll find a warm and welcoming home, furnished with a taste and understated elegance that’s both chic and trendy.

The house is spacious (200 sq. m), well located 20 minutes on foot from the historical city center and the Chartrons (10 minutes by bus) and an ideal pied-à-terre for a stay in Bordeaux with family or friends.

The garden will delight the children, who will be able to play there undisturbed. The grown-ups will appreciate the five bedrooms and bathrooms that provide each guest with independence and privacy. A table outdoors, protected by a roller blind, will allow you to dine al fresco in fine weather.

The house is laid out on three floors, with an additional studio apartment in the garden.

Ground floor:

• Entrance

• Living area with fireplace, prolonged by a dining room and open-plan kitchen, with large sliding glass doors leading onto the terrace and garden

• Bedroom 1, queen-size bed

• Separate toilets

Second floor:

• Bedroom 2, queen-size bed, adjoining bathroom (bathtub and shower)

• Bedroom 3, queen-size bed, adjoining bathroom (bathtub)

• Separate toilets

Third floor:

• Bedroom 4, twin beds (90 cm each) and a double sofa-bed, adjoining shower room (shower)

• Separate toilets

Annex in the back of the garden:

• Bedroom 5, queen-size bed, shower room in the bedroom (shower and sink)

Household linen, kitchen and bath towels are provided. The beds are freshly made up. You’ll also have some surprises in store to welcome you: you’ll find toiletries in the bathrooms and a little gourmet gift basket in the kitchen. Other services are also available on demand when you reserve.

The house is situated next to the magnificent Bernard Magrez cultural center, which hosts contemporary art shows as well as other important special events (conferences, concerts). The number 6 bus line will take you directly to the historical city-center, to the Quinconces, in just 10 minutes. But you can also go by bike (free Vcub bike share services) or on foot: allow about 20 minutes. The same goes for Les Chartrons, a lively riverbank neighborhood and one of the Bordeaux residents’ favorite haunts.

There’s a very good bakery at the end of the street and lots of shops nearby.

And for an unforgettable gourmet experience, be sure to reserve a table at Pierre Gagnaire’s award-winning restaurant: it’s only a few steps away from the house!
