Cannes is a town with many facets. Everyone knows its film festival and the ultra-famous Croisette where the stars parade in their finery and where you’ll also find all the luxury boutiques. But it’s also a very pretty, lively and people-friendly little town, where it’s a pleasure just to stroll around. It’s fun to go shopping on the rue d’Antibes, or to go in search of some local delicacies at the Forville covered market, close to the house (open every day except Monday), or to take the narrow, steep streets that lead up to the old town (Le Suquet). You’ll find tons of good little restaurants with tiny terraces that are jam-packed come nightfall! If you take the Cannes-Grasse “parkway”, only 3 minutes from the house, you’ll be able to explore the lovely inland region. Don’t miss the old village of Mougins, where you’ll find several well-known gourmet restaurants, Valbonne and its arcade square, Biot and its glassworks, Grasse and its perfumeries, or Vallauris and its pottery. The Nice airport is only 20 minutes away by highway.
