If you are looking for authenticity, tranquillity, and a change of scenery, then this remarkable, charming villa is perfect, the oldest in Marrakech's palm groves. Imagined by a renowned architect in traditional North African style, it is a timeless place where camels cross the garden and the three hectares of olive trees screen the magnificent 17x8m pool.
If Berber architecture brings to mind the humble origins of farms of days gone by, the style has been enriched by the high-quality materials and a will to create an environment meeting the demands of modern comfort. There are numerous openings – terraces, courtyards, and open air patios remove the limits between inside and out.
The eight enormous bedrooms have air-conditioning, luxury furnishings, their own bathrooms, and respect traditional construction, but with modern fittings. The beds are either double, queen, king, or emperor size (6ft 6” x 6ft 6”/200 x 200cm) in the master suite, which is an apartment in its own right. As the villa is on one level, each bedroom leads out to either the garden, patio, or pool. Each room is different.
The communal areas are a flower-filled patio, enormous living and dining rooms, many seating areas in the alcoves, and a brilliant kitchen, gorgeously equipped, where the chef will create delicious local dishes for you. Garden furniture and outdoor tables mean you can be outside in nature at all times of day.
You won't run out of things to do here, with the heated pool, hammam, camel rides, quad biking - or why not simply daydreaming on a walk through the olive groves? You can also try some of the 800 litres of olive oil produced annually by the hundred-year-old trees.
For sporty types, there is a great golf course at PalmGolf Marrakech a few minutes' drive away.
Linens, sheets, and towels are provided. The beds will be freshly made on arrival. A gardener manages the pool and garden. You will find toiletries in the bathrooms and a gourmet food basket in the kitchen. Additional services are available upon request at reservation.
The villa is in Marrakech’s palm groves, along the circular road of La Palmeraie’s gardens. Around 10km away from the centre, La Palmeraie contains more than 150,000 trees on a surface area of over 13,000 hectares, which includes fields, gardens, and orchards, but also many luxury homes, hotels, sports clubs, swimming pools, restaurants, and golf courses. It is a real garden of Eden where its peaceful calm contrasts with the buzz of Marrakech. La Palmeraie, a tourist hot-spot, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Golf lovers will appreciate only being ten minutes’ drive from the green.
The Medina is twenty minutes’ drive away, and the international airport is twenty-five minutes.
