As the name suggests, the small village of Bois-Plage-en-Re is shared between beaches and woodland. A charming beach resort, the village has a lively centre with many shops, and a daily market during high season - the largest on the island, where you should really spend some time wandering around. The house is 200 m from the centre and close to beautiful sandy beaches with the 2015 Pavilion Blue label, that are also popular for board sports. The immense Gollandières Beach and the Petit Sergent Beach are only 1 km from the house. The first one, beside numerous aquatic et sports activities, offers an unobstructed view over the Oléron island.
The town and port of Saint Martin de Re is only a ten-minute drive away, towards the north of the island (3,5km). There are many bowling greens nearby the house, as well as a large public play area for children. Finally, the bike is king on the island, and there are many cycle routes to show you the area.
