Theatrical leanings On the doorstep of Theatreland, Shaftesbury Avenue is full of dramatic details inside too. You enter into a long hallway, which leads first to the master bedroom. Inside, a blue-velvet double bed faces long yellow-draped windows, and there are plenty of elaborate antique pieces. Next along is the sitting room, with its blonde-wood floors and pastel walls lined with books and paintings. This room has a built-in Murphy bed, a cushion-spread sofa, two armchairs (one a reclaimed theatre seat) and several striking retro side-tables, all below a glittering crystal chandelier. Of the two doorways here, the first (on the right) opens into the bathroom – a sleekly tiled room with a few more bohemian ornaments. And then the second takes you through to the kitchen. Decorated in black and white, with a theatre-box printed feature wall, there’s a slick little table for four.
