Shopping on heaven’s door
If champagne and oysters at Harrod’s sounds like your cup of fizz, this home will suit you like a Saville Row hat. How about biscotti and coffee at the Saatchi gallery? Well Sloane Street is exactly this: a stylish stop-off point where you can refresh and unwind between days of decadence in the surrounding shops. This one bedroom, one bathroom apartment is sophisticated and restrained, with minimal colour and fuss so as not to distract the eye from your day’s purchases. Watch a movie on the deep sofa, or plan your next day’s dalliance with the summer sales.
Hey big spender
Your host is a single gentleman with an exacting style. The suited and booted sartorial code of Knightsbridge is played out all over his home, where blonde wood floors and black leather furniture offer a distinct sophistication. A London-loving soul, he’s decorated his home with artistic homages to this great city.
Buy buy baby
Notice the bachelor pad atmosphere which courses from the black leather furniture in the super smart sitting room. Enjoy some food hall-fresh delicacies at the black and chrome dining table, or read the daily papers on the black leather sofa. A large wall-mounted TV, meanwhile, ensures lighter entertainment is never too hard to find.
Quench the thirst you’ve worked up traipsing the marble aisles by seeking out the chrome kitchen, which has recently been given an upscale renovation, complete with under-cupboard lighting for a high-end ambiance. Take a shower in the similarly high end bathroom before resting your shopping-weary head on the masculine bedroom’s inviting white linen.
One stop shop
Sloane Street is the only street for those of a consumerist disposition, as it’s a mere credit card’s throw from Harrods. If you drag yourself away from the in-house patisserie, head upstairs and explore this material mecca, or sample the equally illustrious Harvey Nichols across the road. Not to mention Mayfair, which is a 20 minute walk across the park, or Oxford Circus, which is an eight minute tube ride away. The (shopping) list goes on and on.
