It's not easy to tune out the noise of the city. Surrounded by a metropolitan jungle of concrete, asphalt, and glittering glass skyscrapers, peace can seem out of reach—but that all melts away as you step into this urban oasis. Although it's set in one of the most upbeat neighbourhoods in Manhattan, this two bedroom home radiates tranquility like a quiet pool in a shady glen.
Your host is an active businessman who has traversed the globe. When not in his Chelsea pied-à-terre, you'll find him and his family exploring another corner of the world.
Be at peace when you enter this tranquil apartment, where neutral tones are accented with deliberate strokes of bold colour. An eclectic mix of Italian modern furniture, rich wood tones and Asian artwork create a welcoming vibe. Indulge all your senses with the tapestry of textures: woven rattan, smooth marble, supple leather, and cowhide all create a tactile feast.
Dine at the long dinner table or the walnut kitchen island, or take your meal out onto the deck to find an impressive view of Highline Park. It's the perfect spot to indulge in people-watching over a cup of tea. A restful sleep is the best medicine, so rejuvenate yourself in the master bedroom,a soothing grotto with an ensuite. Guests can find their rest in the office, where a modern sofa bed creates a comfy nest.
Harmony with nature
Chelsea, known for its galleries and vibrant nightlife, can be a busy place. Get away from it all by taking a stroll on the Highline, a mile-long park in the sky. The original railroad tracks have been incorporated into the design, landscaped with native flowers, shrubs and grasses. It's a popular place for a stroll, or to catch some sun on the deck chairs while admiring the stunning views.
This home comfortably sleeps two adults, with an additional sofa bed and option of airbed bringing maximum occupancy to four.
