Il Leccio, named after the old holm oak tree that stands in front of the house, is a stone-built farmhouse dating back to the seventeenth century that was originally the farm manager's home on the Mansi-Bernardini estate.
With its particular configuration on different levels and its faithful restoration of the original structure, it has a singular personality. The attention to some colourful details, such as the red windows set among the climbing green jasmine on the walls, adds a distinctive touch to its look.
The interiors are warm but never intrusive and modern comforts such as satellite TV, DVD and stereo have been added to give a comfortable, but authentic experience to guests.
Its dominant position, on top of a hill east of Lucca, ensures magnificent views overlooking the countryside and valley. From each window, it is possible to savour slices of the typical Tuscan landscape, subject matter of many watercolour paintings.
The swimming pool is in a breath-taking position about 150 metres from the house. By the side of the pool, a cabin with kitchenette and bathroom contribute to the completely relaxing atmosphere.
Cooking services are available on the estate and the local office, with English speaking staff, is at clients' disposal to give assistance. An excellent olive oil is produced on the estate.
