Vail & Beaver Creek, The Rockies
Chalet Aster has that fabulous boutique feel combined with elegance and sophistication throughout. With multi-level social areas, a dramatic wooden chandelier as a focal point, and surrounded by gorgeous views, this four-bedroom chalet is a masterclass in décor decadence and design motifs. It welcomes up to ten guests and covers an area of 2,208ft². With everything from ensuites with jacuzzi tubs to a charming little reading nook for those snuggly afternoons, Chalet Aster is a delightful hideaway in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Beaver Creek isn’t just one of the best ski resorts in North America. It’s also home to the White River National Forest, and all ski resort infrastructure has to conform to strict environmental codes so that this pristine region is protected. The ski resort opened in 1980 and today offers around 150 trails open all year round. In the summer, the trails become some of the most beautiful hiking tracks through the mountains, making this a year-round destination. But if you're a serious skier, it's regarded as having some of the most challenging black and double-black runs of any resort in the USA. If a succulent rib-eye at one of the town's finest restaurants doesn't tempt you, then a spot of home cooking at Chalet Aster is on the menu. From the relaxed elegance of the great room, you pass into the gourmet-standard kitchen, complete with granite counters and a breakfast bar. The furnishings are designed to feel homely and cosy. This is a place where you can put your feet up, cradle a brandy or a hot chocolate, and wiggle your toes in front of a roaring log fire. Three of the four bedrooms are located on the same level as the great room. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite, while the second and third bedrooms have queen-size beds. One has an ensuite, while the third bedroom uses the bathroom down the hall. The fourth bedroom is just right for younger travellers, with two sets of twin-over-twin bunks and its own flat-screen TV. Chalet Aster is a true home-from-home that delivers year-round comfort and sublime views from its expansive outside deck, where you'll also find a gas BBQ for those al fresco meals under the stars. You're welcome to use the Alpine Club's facilities, including their community pool and hot tub, giving you everything you need for the perfect mountain retreat.
