Breckenridge, The Rockies
The song of the nearby Blue River has given this exclusive lodge its name. Sitting next to the meandering riverbank, River Song at The Shores is a cosy three-bedroom cabin with space for up to nine guests. The delightful outdoor vistas are as much a feature as the bold stone fireplaces, thanks to the typical Colorado floor-to-ceiling picture windows that turn the view into a living work of art. Natural wood, leather and stone make this wonderful space feel almost organic, and it sits comfortably within its surroundings. River Song at The Shores is a five-minute walk to the free Summit Stage shuttle bus service on Highway 9, giving you easy access to the gondola just over three miles away. During the summer, guests can make the most of the Recreation Path that runs between Breckenridge and Dillon. Peak 8 also has a host of summer attractions, from zip-lining to roller coasters. This iconic mountain slope comes into its own during the winter and is at the very heart of the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Hop on the Imperial Express Chair to the very top of Peak 8, take a deep breath, and drop down into deep powder runs that will challenge every muscle to the max. Spread across 2,500ft², River Song at The Shores blends the organic feel of natural materials with a contemporary interior that includes the most modern facilities. The gourmet kitchen uses Bosch appliances that will satisfy the needs of the most demanding of chefs, while the main level Great Room welcomes the outside in with huge picture windows and a natural flow out to the large patio area. The three elegant bedrooms embrace a tranquil and serene air, with neutral décor that perfectly complements the stunning river views. River Bend Master Suite lives up to its name with a view of the winding river below. It has a gloriously large king size bed and ensuite bath with soaking tub and shower. On the upper level, the River View Mini Master Suite combines a king-size bed and single sleeper sofa for up to three guests, modern furnishings and antique wood furniture. The River Blue bedroom has a king-size bed big enough for two and an adjacent hall bath with tub and shower combination. In the upper-level den, a queen sofa sleeper sleeps two more guests, and has a door for privacy. This room shares a hall bathroom. River Song at The Shores has that ultimate cabin in the woods feel. The vaulted ceilings and open-plan design create an interior that flows effortlessly from one area to the next without losing that intimacy and cosiness. But no matter where you go in this glorious space, that river view takes precedence, allowing a sense of serenity to fill the lodge from top to bottom.
