This three-bedroom villa is more contemporary in style than the other villas on the estate. It has a slightly Mediterranean feel with a white stucco exterior and - on the upper story balcony that's ideal for dining under the stars - an intricate ironwork balustrade. Also on this level are rare bengkiray wooden floors topped with comfortable king-size beds. Another open-air dining area is located downstairs next to the pool, this one furnished with a round dining table suitable for larger groups. Sliding French doors open from the Canton-tiled ground floor onto the massive garden, where one of the features are the Pandan palm trees that are over two decades old.
About the Property:
Villa Kubu offers guests the best of both worlds, combining individually-designed, spacious and elegant private sanctuaries situated in lush garden settings with instant access to sophisticated Seminyak and all that this popular area of south-western Bali has to offer. It is little wonder that Villa Kubu draws travelers from all corners of the globe.
Boho chic restaurants, boutiques, galleries and Seminyak's famous nightlife are just some of the attractions within walking distance of Villa Kubu. The expansive Seminyak Beach with its spectacular year-round sunsets is a stroll away, and to cap it all, the villas are within easy reach of Bali's international airport.
Villa Kubu's luxury private residences, which overflow with traditional features and luxurious modern amenities, are now available in two sought-after locations in Seminyak, each serviced by the same highly experienced staff and overseen by the same caring management. The original location offers 15 separate villas (one, two and three-bedrooms in size) while Lataliana Villas, the newest additions to the Villa Kubu family, comprise a two-bedroom and a five-bedroom villa each standing independently and serenely within delightful tropical gardens.
The owner has lovingly built each of Kubu and Lataliana's 17 individual villas, one by one, over a 12-year period. Don't expect cookie cutter plunge pools and mass produced furnishings and fittings. Each villa has its own personality as unique as the Australian owner, and all come with their own private swimming pools, hand picked decorations from across the archipelago and framed in enchanted tropical gardens.
With its legendary Three Flag Service system, Villa Kubu has a long-established reputation for privacy - one of today's greatest luxuries.
A yellow flag at your villa's front entrance signifies to the staff that you are in residence; green means 'Please service immediately, champagne and nibbles are required', while red means 'Do not disturb'. The system is followed with the utmost respect by the staff whose friendly smiling service is so synonymous with Bali.
Award winning villa dining: (a selection of dishes)
The in-room a la carte dining menus at Villa Kubu include Indonesian and Western dishes. With the villa's commitment to health and wellness almost all of the produce is sourced from Bali's organic farms, ensuring meals are made with the freshest ingredients. Kubu Bites - tempting treats such as fried calamari with spicy aioli sauce and prawn tempura - are a favorite for snacking around the pool and are all freshly prepared, while salads are made with just picked produce. Custom barbecues with fresh seafood and meats make the perfect choice for festive lunches and dinners and all special dietary needs can be catered for - you only have to ask. Alternatively, we offer guests a half-board option: choose from either a 3-course lunch or dinner prepared by our professional chefs and served by our butlers in your dining room (or by your pool!). Menus include western, Asian and fusion cuisine as well as barbecues, and can be specifically tailored to your taste in consultation with our head chef prior to and during your stay.
The owner of Villa Kubu has spent years studying the tropical vegetation of the island and the villa's gardens reflect her love of Balinese botany. With a varied and beautiful assortment of tropical flowers and foliage, the gardens are as diverse as the villas themselves; some featuring lotus ponds, waterfalls and rock gardens complete with Balinese statuary. Pathways wind their way under canopies of palm trees, flanked by the colored foliage of plants that will tolerate the shade. Urns, statues and other garden ornaments add a decorative element to the spaces and there are bursts of color throughout the property courtesy of the bougainvillea and ginger flowers growing in abundance. Villa Kubu's gardens are an amalgamation of a variety of elements that are unique to the island, combining to create what is now simply referred to as Balinese style. The running water, the traditional bale pavilion, the statues and lush foliage further enhanced at night by ambient lighting, all contribute to the success of these gardens and are a defining factor in Villa Kubu's global popularity.
