One of three Balinese-style mansions at the private Los Elementos estate, Villa de Agua comes with an abundance of space. Groups and families can sunbathe on two decks, snooze in shaded lounges, swim the infinity pool or lounge in a hot tub. You also get a pair of outdoor showers and several koi-filled lily ponds. A large kitchen is complemented by a smaller al fresco version, while the interiors pair lots of rustic timber with big windows and sprawling open-plan layouts. Spread across the three floors, each master suite is accompanied by a private terrace or balcony whose lounge and hammock face the Pacific Ocean over Los Elementos’s jungly gardens. Especially romantic and private is Villa de Agua’s additional wooden cottage: this includes a ‘great room’ (blending a kitchen, dining and lounge areas), a sleeper sofa, another outdoor shower, a wrap-around terrace and its own infinity pool. Housekeepers attend daily, and an on-site chef will send varied menus should you prefer not to cook. Ask us to arrange personal shopping, car rental or airport-transfer services. The estate concierge can arrange visiting masseuses or beach bonfires, and assist with treks to the gorgeous Nauyaca Waterfalls. While Manuel Antonio National Park is about a 45-minute drive away, the nearer Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary is similarly stuffed with sloths and monkeys. Closer still is Dominical, an under-the-radar, easy-going town whose sandy beach lures surfers all year round.
