Built in the late 1800s, Putnam Place II has high ceilings, polished wood and majestic carved mantles that have been thoughtfully preserved. But this home’s furnishings hail from the present day. The open-plan living area is filled with mid-century modern designs in pretty hues: an avocado-coloured dining chair, a turquoise low-slung sofa, mustard-toned artworks. You’ll find bedside tulip tables and butterfly chairs in the master bedroom, and the nursery is just as uplifting. It comes equipped with a wooden crib, and the hardwood floor is topped with a patterned rug while a wall is coloured by a collection of playful drawings.


Your hosts are a family who love gardening and hosting dinner parties with friends. They’ve made the kitchen this home’s focal point, with its sunny seating and open-plan design.

The bright living area stretches from the retro armchairs to the kitchen and dining area, with full-length windows and a decadent mirror atop the mantle. There are seats for four around the dining table, and your hosts’ collection of crockery fits neatly in the shelved alcove. You’ll find well-stocked bookshelves and a pair of custom-built desks in between, or head to the bedroom where a tower of books and a fur-draped sling chair make for a cosy reading spot. For more active adventures, Fort Greene Park is a short walk away, and the neighbouring streets are lined with bakeries and bustling shops.

Home truths

This home comfortably sleeps four adults, with an additional sofabed that can be made up upon request in the sitting room, bringing the maximum occupancy to five.

While there is no air conditioning in the second bedroom, guests will find a ceiling fan and a standing fan for their use.

This home does not feature a TV.

Guests should note that the front communal hall leading into the home is a bit worn. However, this will all be forgotten upon entering the home.

This is a home to a lovable cat and a dog. While they won't be in residence during guest stays, this home is not suitable for people with allergies.

The minimum stay length for this home is seven nights.


Cancellation. Provided you book more than 7 days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours and we’ll provide a full refund. Check-in and check-out. We’ll meet you at the home at your convenience any time after 4PM on your arrival date, and our standard check-out time is 11AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

Lead guest. The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.

I.D. check and card authorisation. When you arrive we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking. Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any onefinestay home.

Cleaning. We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart, and for stays longer than seven days we provide a complimentary weekly Housekeeping service. More frequent Housekeeping visits can be arranged on request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and bank transfers for stays with at least 7 days’ notice.
