Sorrento has been the destination of choice for emperors, the elite of Rome and tourists for over two thousand years. Filled with elegant villas and charming cobbled streets where family-run restaurants invite you in for a true taste of Italian cuisine, it’s a place to be savoured and explored. The petrified towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum are close by, or go island hopping over to Ischia, Procida and Capri.
Just a ten-minute drive from the heart of Sorrento, Stradivari captures the spirit and tradition of this magical part of Italy. It’s surrounded by lush gardens and combines an indoor-outdoor lifestyle that encourages you to instantly relax. The interiors are spectacular, with vaulted fresco ceilings and polished wooden floors. The interior seamlessly connects with the outside through large French doors that open up to allow you to experience those incredible views. The dining room is large enough room for everyone to gather around for that celebratory feast. The professional-grade kitchen is the domain of your personal chef, although an additional smaller kitchen is available for guests to use.
The suites are lavish, with private sitting areas and ensuites that make copious use of the local marble and the villa’s original features. Four of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, all boasting indulgent king-size beds and boutique décor. On the second floor are five further bedrooms. Three have king-size beds, a fourth has a king-size and a single bed in the additional alcove, and the final bedroom has twin beds that would suit younger guests.
Outside, Stradivari continues to dazzle. The pergola is just the spot for al fresco dining with the sparkling night sky above you. An infinity pool seems to pour into the green hillside and onto the sea below. Take a stroll down the walking trail that leads into the fishing village below for lunch on the beach, or simply watch the sunset with a refreshing glass of the exceptional local white wine Falanghina as you gaze out over the Gulf of Naples.
