Secluded in the hilltop Vista Tres Bahias neighbourhood, colonial-style Casa Pacifica combines views, privacy and proximity to all of the Los Sueños Resort’s amenities. Accompanying its landscaped tropical gardens is a large pool and adjacent hot tub, plus loads of sun loungers. In the evenings you can relax on the nearby terrace and dine al fresco, admiring sunset over Herradura Bay; in the mornings, sip coffee and listen to monkeys chattering in the neighbouring rainforest reserve.

Just inside is the open-plan ‘great room’, a broad space combining a lounge, a dining area and – incorporating wine and beer coolers – and a kitchen decorated in stone and wood accents. Upstairs is a second living area, its pool table, 50-inch plasma TV screen, balcony and bar – perfect for pre-dinner drinks – vying for attention. High vaulted bamboo ceilings instil a tropical feel.

Each ensuite bedroom boasts a bathtub, a shower, central air-conditioning and another television. Four have king-sized beds while the fifth offers a pair of twin beds. They’ll be cleaned daily by a visiting maid, while a chef and customised menus can also be arranged through Casa Pacifica’s dedicated concierge. A quick taxi ride allows you to enjoy your free access to Los Sueños’s exclusive beach club – its white sand laced with palapa huts – or to play the championship-level, jungle-clad La Iguana golf course. Restaurants litter buzzy Los Sueños marina village, where boats take tourists sport-fishing or diving.
