The saltwater infinity pool at Villa Belita stretches away from its teak deck, appearing to fall straight onto the lush hillside below. That allows for bathers to gaze straight out to sea over Coral Bay – the kind of magical view that never gets boring.

Behind that pool, past cool sun loungers and a barbecue, begins the living and dining room – its open sides blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor worlds. Dark fabrics contrast with white walls, and there’s a litany of seating: sofas, chairs, even bean bags. The movie-tastic media room is close by, and there’s a kitchen in one corner; breakfast is complimentary, while your chef – part of a dedicated live-in staff accompanying the villa – is available whenever you request a meal from his in-villa menu. Along with retractable glass doors, each airy, ensuite bedroom boasts a rainfall shower and oversized bathtub.

Just a short stroll away, Choeng Mon’s sandy beach is one of Koh Samui’s most romantic stretches of sand. Tempting seafood shacks, bars and boutiques line it. Bophut and Chaweng’s longer, louder beaches also lie close to this northeastern peninsula. The estate’s shared tennis court is floodlit to enable play at any hour, while Samujana’s concierge can arrange jungle zip-line rides, waterfall hikes or sailboat voyages to deserted islands as well as massages or Muay Thai classes.
