Nestled between natural boulders on the hillside above Coral Bay, it first benefits from all the gated Samujana estate’s facilities. Its shared tennis court is floodlit to enable all-day play, while a concierge can arrange trips to canopy zip-lines, elephant sanctuaries or easy waterfall hikes. Airport transfers are provided, and Choeng Mon’s endearing sandy beach – quieter than other, broader island shores and fringed by seafood shacks – is in easy walking distance.

When you return, the villa’s dedicated, live-in staff will tend to your every whim. That includes a chef; breakfast is complimentary, and other meals can be ordered off his daily menu.

Perhaps you’ll devour them on a sun deck beside the large infinity pool, enjoying the sumptuous sea views towards small islands. Among other communal areas are a TV room whose projector and large screen enables popcorn-powered movie nights, a roof terrace with sunsets in mind, and an open-plan, indoor/outdoor lounge offering defined areas for dining, cooking and horizontal lounging.
