As all four are spectacularly spacious, you won’t need to draw straws for Villa Siete’s ensuite bedrooms. Everyone is guaranteed their own airy, white-walled base, plus a rainfall shower, a big bathtub and outdoor access via retractable doors.

Bright and contemporary, with sharp straight lines and open-plan design, the lounge and dining area is partly al fresco, spilling out to an infinity-pool deck. Elevated on a hillside, this terrace commands terrific views over baby-blue seas to sandy-fringed islands. The saltwater pool itself is bordered by a natural rock outcrop; on the other side, gardens and water features lead to a sunset deck perfect for cocktails. There’s also a media room whose plasma-screen television has surround sound, while a pond on its roof facilitates continual and eco-friendly cooling.

Tending to your every need will be a dedicated team of live-in staff. That includes a chef; breakfast is complimentary, while other items can be ordered from a daily menu.

A short stroll takes you to Choeng Mon’s sandy beach, bordered by some seafood shacks, bars and boutiques. Bophut and Chaweng’s longer, louder beaches await just off this northeastern peninsula, as do jungly zip-line rides and hikes to waterfalls – examples of the numerous activities which Samujana’s concierge can arrange. That extends to massages or Muay Thai classes, while the estate’s shared tennis court is floodlit to enable all-day play. Your board includes airport transfers.
