Close to the villa is the delightful village of Maussane-les-Alpilles, where you’ll find the obligatory boulangerie selling fresh bread every day, family-run delicatessens and stores, and some excellent restaurants. A little further afield is the magnificent Medieval city of Avignon and the historic town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. These are places where you can lose yourself for a day, wandering through the cobbled streets, castles, abbeys and ancient churches. Pause for a coffee or pastis at a cafe before setting off on another adventure that will take you deeper into Provençal life.
